Here are some answers to questions that may be asked in regards to California Proposition 65.

What is Prop 65?
It is a law that requires businesses to warn their customers of chemicals in the products which are known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Is Arlon Prop 65 compliant?
Some of our products may contain Prop 65 chemicals, but since we created a fair warning and have given notice to our distributors to give to the end users, we are compliant with the regulation which asks that business give fair notice/warning.

Who does this law affect?
Businesses who sell to customers in California. These businesses are required to warn their customers of the chemicals they are exposed to which are known to the state of California to cause cancer/reproductive harm/birth defects.

How much Vinyl Chloride is in our products?
In our PVC products, Vinyl Chloride only exists as a residual amount in our products and does not exceed 8.5ppm or 0.00085%.

What is the concentration of this Prop 65 chemical in Arlon products?
Concentration is only a small part to Prop 65, since the danger is measured by how much exposure could cause a person to potentially develop cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

How are Prop 65 chemicals added to the list?
Substances are listed if there is a 1 in 100,000 chance of causing harm over a 70-year period.

Do we have any products without Prop 65 chemicals?
Series 3350 (PVDF overlaminate)

What are the penalties of Prop 65?
Fines of $2500 per day, and large lawsuits.
