Can series 2100 film cross over to wrapping motorcycle bikes?

Can series 2100 film cross over to wrapping motorcycle bikes?

No, 2100XLP can but it's recommended to use either premask of Overlaminte film for ease of install.

Scenario:
Arlon's distributor has a customer who is looking for color change film to wrap a motorcycle bike. Since Arlon no longer carries color change film, he was wondering if our 2100 series film will work for color change wrap. He?s not sure if end user intends to make decals or wrap the whole bike.

Product construction:
Color change film that we sold was 4 mils and 3 mils thick.
2100 series is a 2 mil film

Why 2100 Series won't work for color change wrap:
1. 2100 Series is designed for permanent signage so it has permanent, & high tack adhesive where customers use wet application to ease install.
2. Vehicle wrap film needs to remove cleanly at the end of wrap life and 2100 is not designed for clean removal. We want the customer to have pleasant removal experience.

2100XLP as an option?
Pro: We have 2100XLP which will work since it has the proper wrap adhesive.
If it's a decal, the customer can use premask to ease the install on flat and simple curves area of the bike.
Cons: 10 roll minimum requirement. It needs a laminate to make easy install for wrapping the whole bike.

Summary:
The distributor was not clear how his customer plans use the film (decals on the bike or wrap the whole bike), He is going to find out more information. If it?s decals then 2100XLP with premask will work. If it?s a full wrap, then 3220/2100XLP is best. Premask will constraint the flexibility of our film on complex curves.

I know it can be confusing since we have different versions of similar products. Let me know if you have any questions and come by our lab so we can show you what premask looks like.

One of Arlon's distributor has a customer who is looking for color change film to wrap a motorcycle bike. He was wondering if our 2100 film will work since we discontinued UPP/color change film. He?s not sure if end user intend to make decals or wrap the whole bike.

Product construction history:
Color change film that we sold were 4 mils and 3 mils.

2100 Series Product info:
The adhesive that is on 2100 film is designed for permanent signage and the adhesive is not wrap friendly and the removal will not be clean (i.e. lots of adhesive will be left behind since it?s permanent). We want customer to have pleasant removal experience.

2100XLP Product info:
Chad brought up a good point that we have 2100XLP which will work since that has the proper wrap adhesive. I didn?t? know that was a stock item so did not make the recommendation considering the 10 roll minimum requirement.
