How do Media Presets work on HP Latex printers?
Media Presets for latex HP Gen 2, Gen 3, and Gen 4 series printers are located on the actual printer hard drive. You can find the Arlon Media Preset on the printer by navigating on the printer control panel to "Substrate Library", then "Online Search". Select the Media Preset, and it will import to the printer's hard drive automatically.
Media Presets for HP printers are NOT RIP software specific. The HP Media Preset format is .OMS. You do not need specific profiles for different RIP software such as Flexi, Onyx, Caldera, etc.
How to download and import Arlon Preset to HP Latex printers:
1. Go to the printer control panel > "Substrate Library".
2. Go to the "Online Search" on the left and search for the desired media. Touch the download arrow button, and the media preset will be downloaded and imported.
3. The RIP software should then recognize the Media Preset; there is no need to upload the preset to the RIP software.
4. When the RIP software doesn't recognize the Media Preset; restart the printer and the RIP computer.
