How long do you wait before wrapping a vehicle that is going to be repainted?
We generally do not recommend wrapping vehicles that are going to or have been repainted at any point. We also do not warranty our films on repainted vehicles. The reason being is that OEM paint is at a standard and body shops do not go by the same standards that handle cars from a dealership. Ultimately, it is up to the shop if they want to do the job and they have to let the clients know about the potential failures that could come with it which is usually during removal. Clear coat and/or paint may come right off with the film when removing. If the shop does intend to proceed with the install they have to make sure the vehicle paint outgasses and that would usually be determined by the body shop doing the paint job. If the paint does not fully outgass before film application, bubbling may occur under the film from the paint still outgassing.
