How to Install on Rivets, Roller Methods

  1. Tunnel Methods

    1. Remove release liner and drape the whole panel on the surface.

    2. With a squeegee, apply the flat areas first, leaving a continuous tunnel of air approximately the width of the rivets.

    3. Heat a section of film which covers 4-5 rivets. As you apply heat, the film will wrinkle but will flatten out once it reached its optimum temperature (180°F to 240°F).

    4. Using a foam roller applicator, apply firm pressure over 3-4 rivets at a time. Going over too many rivets at a time may result in tenting because of the film cooling down.

    5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you finish the entire column of rivets and then move on to the next set.

    6. Post-heat the film on the rivets to 200°F to 220°F (95°C to 105°C) because the foam roller tends to leave a rough texture.

    5. With a squeegee, carefully apply the flat areas last.

TIP: Use light squeegee pressure during the first pass to avoid trapping bubbles in the flat areas.

    6. Post-heat the film on the rivets to 200°F to 220°F (95°C to 105°C) because the foam roller tends to leave a rough texture.
