What is the weight of Arlon liners?

Liner weight is product-specific and could refer to the total weight of the liner or solely the base paper.

Liner weight varies by product and construction such as air-egress vs. non-air-egress, paper and PET based liners, and product group.

In most cases, the Product Information Bulletin will specify the weight of the "paper" in GSM (grams per sq. meter) or in pounds (lb or the symbol "#"). This usually refers only to the core paper of the liner which excludes the silicone coating on the adhesive side, the inks for the logo, and the protective coating over the logo.

But if the total liner weight (in gsm) is needed, follow the steps below to calculate:

  1. Cut a 12" x 12" sheet of film and discard the self-adhesive film.

  2. Use a digital food scale to weigh the 1-sqft liner sheet in grams.

  3. Divide this grammage by 0.092903

  4. The result is the GSM of entire liner.
