SLX+ vs OMNI vs DPF 6100XLP

SLX+ vs OMNI vs 6100XLP

Let’s start with SLX+. This film is specifically designed for vehicle wraps and features our crown jewel: FLITE Technology. This advanced adhesive system offers very lite initial tack, making it ideal for large-scale projects and long panels. It allows for virtually unlimited repositioning during installation.

But don’t be mistaken—once the adhesive has “wet out”, it becomes extremely strong and reliable. It will stay down into deep channels without the need for primer, and stay tight around rivets, delivering long-term performance you can trust.

OMNI Cast Wrap: This film was designed to be truly multi-purpose. Should you wrap a vehicle with it? Absolutely, you should.

But that’s not all—compared to SLX+, it has a higher initial tack adhesive, which allows it be installed on painted flat walls, among many other applications. The softer adhesive puts OMNI Cast Wrap in the perfect spot to deliver easy repositionability on vehicles while providing a strong and reliable bond on walls.

Also, that higher initial tack increases its bond to the release liner, meaning it is also an excellent choice for print-cut or spot graphics and performs exceptionally well even in relatively cold ambient temperature.

However, you need to be aware that even though OMNI Cast Wrap’s adhesive and release liner looks very similar to SLX+, OMNI Cast Wrap does not have the full features of FLITE Technology.

And last but not least, DPF 6100XLP. This is a wrap film featuring our  Low Profile X-Scape Technology, a favorite for installers who prefer a wrap film with a more aggressive adhesive. This also helps it perform exceptionally well in colder climates.

It’s reliable, offers outstanding air-release performance, and is still very easy to use. I would also like to mention here other products that share the same adhesive technology with 6100XLP, 4600GLX or MLX which is a premium polymeric calendered multi-purpose film and DPF 2400XLP a printable Type 1 Engineering Grade Reflective film.

So, the question is: When should you use one over the other?

Every scenario is different. It depends on the installer’s preferences, the type of project, the shop’s production process, your installation climate, printer type, and many other variables. But here are a few simple examples:

  • If you run a wrap shop and a large portion of your business is commercial vehicle and fleet wraps, SLX+ is your best choice. It will help you complete jobs faster and more efficiently.
  • If you run a sign shop and your business is a mix of signages, wall wraps, full and partial vehicle wraps, and more, you’ll probably want a more versatile material like OMNI Cast Wrap, which helps keep inventory low.
  • On the other hand, if you run a wrap shop and prefer using an aggressive adhesive —or simply work in a colder climate—you might lean toward DPF 6100XLP. But we highly recommend still trying out OMNI Cast Wrap or SLX+. You might be surprised on the opportunities that might open up!

As you can see, the variables are almost endless, and all three are designed to fulfill your needs.
