Why Do My Decals Curl After They Are Cut?
Fixing Lamination Tension
If the edges of your decals snap upward the second the blade finish its path, the problem is Lamination Tension.
When you laminate your prints, if the tension (the brake) on the laminate roll is too tight, you are stretching that plastic film as it sticks to the vinyl. Think of it like a rubber band taped to a piece of paper. As long as the sheet is whole, the tension is held in place. But the moment the blade cuts a shape, the "rubber band" is free to snap back to its original size, pulling the vinyl up with it.

The Fix: Loosen the tension on your laminator. You only need enough pressure to keep the film flat and wrinkle-free. If the laminate looks like it’s getting "thinner" or tighter as it enters the rollers, it’s too tight.
