Why outgassing is important?

Proper outgassing is essential.

If printed vinyl is not adequately outgassed, residual solvents remain trapped in the Adhesive. These solvents can soften the adhesive further, increasing tack temporarily while actually weakening long-term performance.

This can lead to:

  • Excessive aggressiveness during vehicle installation
  • Reduced repositionability
  • Compromised durability—particularly problematic for wall applications

While outgassing times vary depending on ink load, environment, and material, a minimum of 24 hours is recommended as a baseline.
